Adopt a Prisoner Program

Welcome to Phase III: Adopt a Prisoner Program

As you can see the instructions on the flyer, this project is quiet simple as it doesn’t involve much work but will achieve a lot of benefit for our imprisoned brethren and ourselves, insha’Allaah. The aim of our ”Adopt a prisoner” campaign is to get the global community involved, so that these prisoners can receive letters not just from those that write regularly but from others around the world. Some of the Prisoners you’ll be writing to, have probably never received a letter since their imprisonment, so imagine how much it will mean to them when they receive their first letter. They will know that their brethren have not abandoned them in their time of need and Allaah will reward you for this beautiful deed, insha’Allaah.

In terms of the Prisoners you’ll be writing to, it would great if you get to know them a little more, so we decided to create a Profile page for the Prisoners. This will basically help you to know a bit more about them, their case, their condition and help you to write better insha’Allaah. Please have a look at the list of Profiles done thus far – there’s more profiles to come insha’Allaah. For a list of prisoners that do not have profiles yet, you can find their addresses here. And please have a look at the ‘Campaigners guide to letter writing and sending goods’ as a guide to help you write - this is also placed as a footnote on the profile page.

***An important note***:
We want to make sure that GVfJ does not open doors to any form of fitnah and in order to ensure that, adoption of the Male Prisoners will be restricted to only men, and likewise female prisoners will be restricted to women for adoption. And because there are more Male Prisoners, our aim is to get brothers involved as much as possible and to get them to write to our male prisoners often, insha’Allaah.

If you would like to be a part of this project or have any questions/concerns, please email us at: globalvoice.forjustice@gmail.com

We look forward to hearing from you.
